This independent guide collects only the data strictly necessary for technical operation, security and the optional measurement of site usage. There are no user accounts, profile databases, restricted areas or CMS.
1. Information that may be collected
During normal browsing, the systems that serve the site may process technical data such as IP address, browser type, device, requested page, date and time of the request, and information needed for security and content delivery.
The browser may also store local preferences, such as the cookie choice. Google Analytics is loaded only if you enable analytics cookies on the Cookie settings page.
2. How we use the data
- to provide and protect the site and its content;
- to understand, with consent, how pages are used and to improve the experience;
- to diagnose technical errors and prevent abuse;
- to comply with legal obligations, where applicable.
3. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, the technical processing needed for the functioning and security of the site may be based on legitimate interest and/or on the need to provide the requested service. Non-essential analytics measurements are instead activated on the basis of user consent.
4. Third-party services
Google Maps
The main page embeds a Google Maps map. Embedded content may involve communications between the browser and Google when it is loaded. Google applies its own terms and policies.
Google Analytics 4
The site is configured for Google Analytics 4 with identifier G-HXM22WWPKP. The analytics script is loaded only after a positive choice on the cookie settings page. If analytics is disabled, the project intentionally does not insert the GA4 script into the running page.
Images
The photographs shown on the pages are local copies included in the project. They are not requested from Wikimedia Commons during normal browsing; the relevant sites are cited exclusively as sources/licences in the credits.
5. Cookies and local storage
Consent preferences are stored locally in the browser. Non-essential cookies or analytics tools are disabled by default until a user choice is made. To change the decision at any time, visit Cookie settings.
6. Retention
Technical data possibly recorded by the hosting infrastructure is retained according to the provider’s operational and security policies. Locally stored preferences remain in the browser until site data is cleared or a new choice is made.
7. International transfers
Some technology providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, the mechanisms and safeguards provided by the respective providers and by applicable law apply.
8. Your rights
Where the GDPR and applicable law apply, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of data; you may object to processing, withdraw previously given consent and lodge a complaint with the data protection authority.
